Marin Outpatient MRI is governed by Marin General Hospital, and thus, we utilize their billing system. When visiting this site, you may be directed to our billing portal on Marin General Hospital’s website. This is intentional – it is also Marin Outpatient MRI’s billing portal.

We are responsible for submitting the appropriate bills to your insurance company. We will do everything possible to expedite your claim. It is important to remember that your policy is a contract between you and your insurance company and that you have the final responsibility for the payment of your bill.

Billing and Insurance FAQs

Q: Will I need authorization from my insurance company to have a MRI?
A: Many insurance companies require pre-authorization for MRI’s. We will work with your referring physician to obtain the necessary insurance authorization. Payment for the study is ultimately your responsibility, so it is important that if you have questions to contact your insurance provider, prior to scheduling the exam.

Q: I do not have insurance. Can you still do my scan?
A: If you have a recommendation from your doctor, we can do the scan, and we do offer a discount for payment at the time of study. Please call us for further information.
